    2. Can I transfer existing domain name to your servers? - Top

Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting for the completion of the transfer process. We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from your current site. When the registration authority announces the completion of the transfer there is a 72 hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site. At the end of the 72 hours you should contact your previous host to have them delete the old domain from their records and update their DNS record. If you use this same provider for your Internet access you will not be able to access your domain site until they update their DNS.

    3. How long does it take to set up a new account? - Top

New accounts are generally set up within 24 hours from the time we receive your order. Once an account is set up an activation notice will be sent to you via email including your user-ID, password, and FTP hostname. You can begin uploading files to your new web site immediately. Domain account users will be given a temporary URL to access their site via the web prior to the completion of either domain registration or domain modification.

    10. What is a Virtual Domain? - Top

A Virtual Domain means having your own domain name (http://www.your-name.com) without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a Virtual Domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address domain name (www.your-name.com) and by your own personal e-mail address domain name (you@your-name.com).

    11. Should my site be completed before I sign up for hosting package? - Top

While we normally suggest that you wait until you're ready to put your site on the internet to avoid paying for a service you're not yet using,
we do like to warn people that publishing their site, trouble-shooting it (making sure there are no broken links, images, missing pages, etc...) can take time. Also, you may want to add some of the features we provide such as a guest-book, multiple user forums (discussion boards) polling scripts, quiz scripts, free for all links page etc... and while these are very quick and easy to install, if you want to customize them to fit the look of the rest of your site, you will want to allow some time for that as well.

Also, if you plan to submit your site to the search engines, you should know that it can take weeks or even months to get listed on some of the more popular engines, so if your index page is ready (the meta tags, etc..) then it would be an advantage to start as soon as possible for that as well.

*(Just be sure you don't have any broken links from your index page as some engines penalize you for that - if you need to, you can take the links off and submit just the main page, and when you're done with the rest of your site, put the links back on the index page, and resubmit to the engines)

Many of our customers have signed up, and been live on-line within 24 hours, however, it's much better to be safe than sorry... so as a general rule, we suggest that you give yourself at least two weeks (minimum) to allow for unexpected changes, corrections, problems, etc.. that might need to be dealt with before you want your site to go live on the net.
